Composition:
Each 1 capsule contains the following active ingredients:
| Ingredient | Amount | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Natural extra virgin olive oil | 250 mg | Supports cartilage structure |
| Concentrate of Turmeric Extract | 720 mg | Maintains cartilage elasticity |
Introduction:
Curcumin, the primary active compound of turmeric, is widely recognised for its role in inflammation modulation and joint support. Zade Vital Curcumin Forte Capsules represent a solubilized curcumin formulation designed to enhance absorption efficiency. In community pharmacy practice, curcumin supplements are frequently discussed for patients experiencing musculoskeletal discomfort, stiffness, and inflammation-related symptoms. Proper formulation and bioavailability considerations play a critical role in clinical effectiveness.
What makes Zade Vital Curcumin Forte Capsules Unique?
- Up to 185× enhanced bioavailability
- Fast onset of action (~7 hours)
- Sustained plasma presence (up to 24 hours)
- Manufactured under GMP standards
- Provides similar joint pain relief to NSAIDs, with better tolerability.
Mechanism of Action:
Curcumin is mainly valued for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity. In osteoarthritis, the key point is that it does not just “mask pain”; it may also act on pathways involved in joint inflammation and cartilage breakdown.
- It suppresses inflammatory signaling, especially NF-κB.
- It reduces cartilage-degrading enzymes.
- It helps preserve cartilage matrix.
- It may lower systemic inflammatory markers in osteoarthritis patients.
Simple wording:
Curcumin may help osteoarthritic patients by reducing inflammatory signaling in the joint, lowering cartilage-degrading activity, and improving pain, stiffness, and function.
Novasol® is a micellar delivery system:
Curcumin naturally has very poor water solubility and therefore poor oral absorption. Micellar systems package lipophilic compounds like curcumin into very small structures that can disperse in an aqueous environment and improve intestinal uptake. The human pharmacokinetic study on liquid micellar curcumin found a major increase in oral bioavailability compared with native curcumin.
In the crossover human study by Schiborr et al., micellar curcumin showed about 185-fold higher bioavailability overall versus native curcumin based on AUC.
Zade Vital’s Curcumin Forte formulation uses Novasol technology with ~30 nm micelle encapsulation and also lists fast action in 7 hours and persistence up to 24 hours in the bloodstream.
TAKE WITH CAUTION!
Curcumin may have mild antiplatelet effects; therefore, caution is advised in patients receiving anticoagulants or antiplatelet therapy due to a potential increased risk of bleeding.
Usual Dose (11 y/o & above):
Take 1 capsule daily, for at least 3 months. Capsules should be swallowed with sufficient amount of water without crushing or chewing.
Storage:
Store at a temperature under 25 C, in a dry place. Out of reach of children.
FAQ:
What is the difference between this curcumin and turmeric used at home?
Curcumin supplements contain standardized, concentrated extracts of the active compound (curcuminoids), whereas turmeric used in food contains only about 2–5% curcumin due to natural poor absorption.
Additionally, Zade Vital uses advanced delivery technology (Novasol®) to enhance absorption, while dietary turmeric has very limited bioavailability.
Why is curcumin absorption usually poor?
Curcumin is poorly soluble in water, rapidly metabolized, and quickly eliminated from the body, which limits its effectiveness unless advanced delivery systems are used.
What is the difference between Zade Vital curcumin and curcumin + piperine products?
Curcumin + piperine formulations improve absorption by about ~20-fold, mainly by inhibiting metabolism of curcumin.
In contrast, Zade Vital Curcumin uses Novasol® micellar technology, which enhances solubility and absorption, achieving up to 185-fold higher bioavailability compared to standard curcumin.
Does curcumin have an analgesic effect?
Curcumin does not act as a direct painkiller like NSAIDs, but it reduces pain indirectly by decreasing inflammation.
Clinical studies in osteoarthritis have shown that curcumin can:
- Reduce joint pain
- Improve stiffness and physical function
In some studies, its effect was equivelant to NSAIDs or paracetamol, with better tolerability.
